Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival Introduces Vintage Vibes Picnic

Cronulla RSL is proud to be the presenting partner of a new community-focused initiative delivered as part of the 2026 Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival, helping ensure more people can experience one of the Shire’s most loved cultural events.

The Vintage Vibes Jazz Picnic, delivered by the Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival and proudly presented by Cronulla RSL, will take place on Friday 29 May from 1.00pm to 2.00pm at Cronulla Park. The event offers a relaxed and accessible live music experience designed especially for the senior community and the young at heart.

Running from 27–31 May, the Cronulla Jazz and Blues Festival continues to grow as a standout event on the cultural calendar, delivering five days of music and entertainment across the Shire. With more than 200 free performances across 24 stages, alongside special ticketed events, bars, food and market stalls, the festival offers something for everyone. The program also features the 2026 Blues Awards, a film festival, record fair and dedicated kids’ events, all while maintaining a strong focus on supporting and engaging the local community.

While the festival offers an extensive program, the Vintage Vibes Jazz Picnic has been introduced as a complementary initiative. Delivered by the festival and proudly presented by Cronulla RSL, it provides a more accessible and relaxed way for those who may not always be able to attend the broader program to still enjoy the atmosphere, music and connection the festival brings.

Set against the natural beauty of Cronulla Park, the event invites attendees to settle in and enjoy a laid-back afternoon of live jazz in a welcoming outdoor environment.

The afternoon will feature acclaimed Australian jazz vocalist Simone Waddell and her band, known for their smooth and engaging interpretations of classic jazz and swing.

Cronulla RSL encourages community groups and organisations to attend, with limited seating available for those who require it. Groups are encouraged to register their expected attendance in advance to assist with seating arrangements.

Attendees are advised that there will be no food or beverage facilities available on-site, and are welcome to bring their own refreshments. The closest public amenities are located near the Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club.

For those wishing to extend their visit, guests are welcome to enjoy dining at Cronulla RSL before or after the event, with reservations available online or by contacting the Club’s dining team on 02 9523 6833.

The Vintage Vibes Jazz Picnic is free to attend.
