We're working with local sporting clubs, volunteer groups & charitable organisations to give back & grow the community of Cronulla.
From the 1st September 2024 - 31st August 2025, our club worked with a number of wonderful organisations and donated approximately $467,800 to the local community (through ClubGRANTS, Sponsorships, Donations and In-Kind Support). View all of the worthy recipients of support here.

The ClubGRANTS scheme is a shared State Government-Club Industry program, funded by a 2.25% gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum.

Australia Day Long Weekend
Presented by Sutherland Shire Council, a program of events to be reflective of the Australia Day Council theme: Reflect, Respect, Celebrate.
Commencing with a Sunset Cultural Ceremony and including major concerts, outdoor cinemas and pool parties at our Leisure Centres, it was an epic program for our community over three days.
Cronula RSL are the major partner.

Combined Schools Concert
The Combined Schools Concert is a free community dance showcase that brings together students from a range of local schools, giving young performers the opportunity to share their talents on a supportive and uplifting stage. The program celebrates creativity, confidence and collaboration, encouraging students to express themselves through movement while building connections across participating schools.

Cronulla Public School
Cronulla Public School (K–6) launched The Resilience Project (TRP), a whole-school wellbeing initiative based on evidence-based principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness (GEM), and Emotional Literacy. The program equips students with lifelong skills to manage emotions, develop resilience, and build positive relationships, while also supporting staff through professional learning and providing families with tools to reinforce wellbeing at home.
Cronulla RSL have provided funding to support the project.

Grays Point Mountain Bike Festival
The Grays Point Mountain Bike Festival is a community-driven mountain biking event, with races and activities for all ages.
Now in its third year and organised by the Mill Creek Trails Association, the festival will raise funds to improve and maintain the MTB trails in the Royal National Park.Cronulla RSL are an event sponsor.

Kurrunulla Swim Club
Kurranulla Swim Club is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing inclusive swimming opportunities for members of all ages. They are the sister club to Cronulla RSL Swimming Club.
Cronulla RSL assisted to fund a portion of the cost for their members to participate in the AUS Swim Squad Fundamentals training.

South Cronulla Bowling Club
South Cronulla Bowling Club is a long-standing community sporting hub, offering both competitive and social lawn bowls for players of all ages and abilities. The club prides itself on a welcoming environment, strong local participation and a genuine love of the game.
Their regular competitions rely on accurate scoring and well-run matches. Cronulla RSL supports this by providing scorecards used throughout the season, helping the club deliver smooth, consistent and enjoyable play for members and visiting teams.

Southern Districts Rugby Club
The Southern Districts Rugby Club Academy is dedicated to nurturing young rugby talent in the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas. Through expert coaching, structured training programs, and opportunities for competition at various levels, the Academy helps players develop their skills, sportsmanship, and passion for the game. They also focus on fostering a supportive community environment where players can grow both on and off the field.

St Aloysious Catholic Primary School
Cronulla RSL is proud to support St Aloysius Catholic Primary School through our Schools Grant Program, helping bring to life a vibrant new mural created by artist Merindah Funnell, with the help of her nephews, Alexander and Michael. The artwork celebrates the family’s Indigenous heritage, weaving together symbols of nature, local Gweagal culture and the school’s Catholic identity.

St Francis De Sales Catholic Primary School
Cronulla RSL supports St Francis de Sales Catholic Primary School in Woolooware, as they celebrate student leadership, commitment and academic excellence through its annual End of Year Awards. These honours acknowledge two school captains and two students who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to their learning and made meaningful contributions to school life.

Cronulla RSL is a dedicated supporter of Swim Coffee Chat, an initiative that promotes men’s mental health by fostering mateship, encouraging healthy living, and providing a safe space for open conversations.

The Family Co | Walk For Respectful Relationships
Walk for Respectful Relationships is a community-driven initiative that brings students, families and local organisations together to champion respect, equality and positive behaviour. The event promotes awareness around healthy relationships and encourages young people to lead by example, fostering kindness, inclusion and mutual understanding within their schools and the wider community.

Wanda Surf Life Saving Club
Wanda Surf Life Saving Club provides essential lifesaving services, education and community engagement across one of our region’s busiest stretches of coastline. During major surf carnivals, clear visibility of first aid stations is vital to ensure competitors and the public can quickly access help when needed. The club identified the need for dedicated First Aid feather flags to improve safety and wayfinding during these large community events.
Cronulla RSL proudly supported this initiative by donating the flags, helping strengthen safety and accessibility for everyone on the beach

Woolooware High School
Cronulla RSL supports Woolooware High School’s annual academic scholarships, recognising students who demonstrate strong academic potential, consistent attendance and active participation in school life.

Sydney South Hockey Association
Sydney South Hockey Association is working to grow participation in Hockey 5’s, a fast, inclusive and family-friendly format of the sport. To support this expansion, the Association is fundraising for purpose-built Hockey 5’s rebound boards, which will allow them to deliver new competitions, community gala days and accessible “come and try” programs for players of all ages and abilities. At present, they rely on heavy indoor boards that limit regular use and restrict opportunities to grow the game locally.
By securing the right equipment, SSHA aims to increase community participation, build pathways for young players, strengthen volunteer engagement and ensure hockey remains vibrant and sustainable in the Sutherland Shire.

Cronulla High School
Cronulla RSL were proud to support the Cronulla High School End of Year Award. Students from each year group will receive an award, currently titled the Cronulla RSL Award for Application to Studies. This recognition celebrates consistent effort and commitment to learning, while encouraging both recipients and their peers to continue striving for excellence.

Cronulla Caringbah Sharks J.R.L.F.C
Cronulla RSL is a proud Club Sponsor of the Cronulla Caringbah Sharks Junior Rugby League Football Club. The junior rugby league pathways delivered focus on teamwork, fitness, confidence and, most importantly, enjoyment of the game. With experienced coaches, a strong community culture and opportunities for all skill levels, the program provides an ideal environment for young players to grow, connect and create lasting memories.

LifeUnleashed By Integra Service Dogs Australia
Cronulla RSL were proud to support LifeUnleashed By Intergra Service Dogs, Cronulla RSL is supporting LifeUnleashed by Integra Service Dogs, which has placed over 160 psychiatric assistance dogs with Veterans and First Responders nationally, including one client in our local area. Funding will provide ongoing support and the required annual Public Access Test over the next 12 months, ensuring compliance, animal welfare and continued therapeutic outcomes for the client and their family.

Surfers Rescue 247
Cronulla RSL were proud to support Surfers Rescue 247 through the Trees of Hope Program.
Surfers Rescue is a free board rescue and CPR course available for all surfers and recreational water users in NSW. The course provides crucial training to assist in an emergency situation and could save a life.

Platform 9 by Kingsway Care
Cronulla RSL were proud to support Platform 9 by Kingsway Care through the Trees of Hope program. Platform Nine is a community of compassion which exists to provide temporary and crisis accommodation for individuals or families who have survived domestic violence or been impacted by homelessness. Through providing emergency accommodation it is our mission to connect, support, and empower people toward longer term housing solutions and independent living.

Shire Military History Club
On 27 October 1952, Dakota A65‑113 [VH-RGA] plunged into the sea 15 miles off Jibbon Head.
Onboard were four RAAF crew:

Elite cycling comes to Cronulla as the Harbour City GP launches with the Cronulla RSL Criterium, delivering high speed racing, world class riders and a vibrant night of entertainment by the beach as part of the ProVelo Super League 2026. Cronulla RSL are the official Stage 1 partner.

Cronulla Point Boardriders Club
Cronulla RSL are proud to support the Cronulla Point Boardriders Club.
The Cronulla Point Boardriders Club (CPBC) is a long-standing community surfing organisation based in Cronulla, New South Wales. Celebrating its 40th year in 2025, the club is dedicated to fostering a friendly, social environment for surfers of all ages and backgrounds.

Skillz4me - Ocean Warriors Event
Through Category 1 ClubGRANTS, Cronulla RSL were able to support Skillz4me, Ocean Warriors Event in February 2026.
The event allows local families who have a child with a disability, the opportunity to go to the beach in a fun and supportive environment. The children are able to access the water or ride on a surfboard, for some it was their first time.

Cronulla RSL Table Tennis Club provides accessible, community-based tennis opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
A recent grant helped cover venue hire costs, ensuring the Club can maintain reliable access to courts for training and competition.

Sydney South Hockey Assocation
Sydney South Hockey Association is expanding participation in Hockey 5’s, a fast and inclusive format ideal for families and new players. They are seeking purpose-built Hockey 5’s rebound boards to support new competitions, gala days and accessible “come and try” programs, replacing the heavy indoor boards that currently restrict growth.
This initiative will help increase participation, strengthen pathways for young athletes and support the long-term sustainability of hockey in the Shire.
Cronulla RSL is a proud supporter of this project through ClubGRANTS Category 2.

Sydney Sixers
Sydney the local PSSA network, to deliver free, skills-based cricket programs that introduce primary students to the game in a fun and accessible way. Their focus is on providing quality entry-level experiences, helping young players build confidence and enjoyment before transitioning into their local community clubs.
Cronulla RSL proudly supports this program through ClubGRANTS Category 2.

Cronulla Sharks Waterpolo Club
The Bush to Bay Water Polo Tournament brings young athletes from regional NSW to the shores of Gunnamatta Bay for a weekend of friendly competition, community spirit and junior development. Each year, more than 200 players aged 11 to 14 take part, with the event culminating in a vibrant finals day run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Beyond offering a memorable sporting experience, the tournament also serves as an important annual fundraiser for the club, helping sustain local junior water polo programs.

Australian War Widows NSW
This project supports the ongoing delivery of monthly social meetings for war widows in Cronulla, coordinated by local volunteers. These gatherings provide vital social connection, reduce isolation, and promote the wellbeing of elderly war widows.

Elouera Surf Life Saving Club
Elouera Surf Life Saving Club’s double ski enhances training opportunities for both male and female competitors, while also strengthening the rapidly growing junior ski program. With more young athletes showing interest in surf sports each season, having safe, dependable equipment is essential to supporting their development.
A new double ski will allow members to train with confidence, build their skills and stay engaged in surf lifesaving without the limitations of ageing or damaged craft. Cronulla RSL is proud to support this important investment in Elouera Surf Life Saving Club’s future.

Sutherland Sharks Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair Sports NSW ACT aims to strengthen inclusive sport opportunities within the local community. Through the Sutherland Sharks Wheelchair Basketball Club, they provide people with disabilities the chance to participate in community sport, delivering important physical and mental health benefits.
Funding from the Club will help cover essential operational costs, including court hire, equipment maintenance and player uniforms, ensuring the program remains accessible and sustainable. Cronulla RSL is proud to assist in supporting inclusive sport for our community.

Wanda Surf Life Saving Club
Wanda Surf Life Saving Club has received support from Cronulla RSL to secure essential First Aid and Oxygen First Aid equipment, strengthening its capacity to deliver critical lifesaving services to the beachgoing community. This equipment plays a vital role not only during patrol hours, but also in supporting emergency services during natural disasters and enabling the Club’s Callout Team to respond to out of hours rescue emergencies.

Cronulla RSL Softball Club
Cronulla RSL Softball Club has received support from Cronulla RSL to purchase new playing equipment for its expanding junior program, including bats, balls and protective catching gear for additional Under 12 teams. With strong growth in participation, access to safe, age-appropriate equipment ensures young players can train and compete confidently while developing their skills in a supportive community environment.

Cronulla Surfing Academy
Cronulla Surfing Academy has received support from Cronulla RSL for its CSA Blue Water Therapy program, an inclusive surf initiative designed for children on the autism spectrum and those living with disability. The program provides one-on-one surfing sessions with experienced coaches, creating a safe and empowering environment where participants can build confidence, develop new skills and experience the joy of the ocean.

Cronulla High School
Cronulla High School has received support from Cronulla RSL to develop a fully functional gym to enhance its Surfing and Rugby League programs and support the introduction of a Fitness VET course for senior students. The facility will also be used after hours by the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks for junior representative training, strengthening local sporting pathways and creating greater opportunities for young people in the Sutherland Shire.

Cronulla Outrigger Canoe Club
Cronulla Sutherland Junior Canoe Club has received support from Cronulla RSL to purchase a new UV-rated gazebo with side walls, providing essential shade for members while training and competing by the beach. With limited natural shelter available, the gazebo will offer much-needed protection from the sun’s UV exposure and create a safer, more comfortable environment for paddlers of all ages as they prepare for races.

Supporting animals impacted by war
$38,000 raised so far
Over the past few years, Cronulla RSL has been dedicated to recognising and supporting animals impacted by war. Since 2022, we’ve proudly raised awareness and funds for several important causes, including the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation (AWAMO), which honours animals that have served alongside our troops; local retired Military Working Dogs, Manic and Aslan, to support their ongoing care; and most recently, Working Paws Australia, which provides care and rehoming services for working and retired service dogs.
