We're working with local sporting clubs, volunteer groups & charitable organisations to give back & grow the community of Cronulla.

From the 1st September 2023 - 31st August 2024, our club worked with a number of wonderful organisations and donated approximately $354, 655 to the local community (through Grants, Sponsorships, Donations and In-Kind Support). View all of the worthy recipients of support here.

  • Cronulla Junior Australian Football Association

    A community based club that is focused on creating an inclusive and supportive environment for juniors of all ages and capabilities. They encourage players to learn the great game of AFL, form lasting friendships and thrive in an encouraging and competitive environment.

  • Australia Day Long Weekend

    Presented by Sutherland Shire Council, a program of events to be reflective of the Australia Day Council theme: Reflect, Respect, Celebrate.

    Commencing with a Sunset Cultural Ceremony and including major concerts, outdoor cinemas and pool parties at our Leisure Centres, it was an epic program for our community over three days.

    Cronula RSL were the major partner of the weekend.

  • Snacktember

    Throughout September, members and guests help reduce waste and feed hungry kids by dropping off your unwanted snack and pantry items to Cronulla RSL. The Club was ‘Snack Central’ helping the Snack Crusaders collect 750kg of Snacks.

  • Elouera Boardriders Club

    Elouera Boardrider’s Club are all about community. They aim to create an environment where young surfers can belong, grow and excel. They help to produce great people with a love of surfing and the outdoors, a social and environmental conscience & community focused outlook.

  • Southside Malibu

    Southside Malibu are based on surfer’s love of longboarding, both competitive and recreational. All levels of ability are welcome.

  • Grays Point Mountain Bike Festival

    The Grays Point Mountain Bike Festival is a community-driven mountain biking event, with races and activities for all ages.

    Now in its second year and organised by the Mill Creek Trails Association, the festival will raise funds to improve and maintain the MTB trails in the Royal National Park.

  • Burraneer Bay Seniors Rugby

    Founded in 1996, Burraneer Bay Seniors Rugby have built a reputation as one of the Subbies’ most hospitable and welcoming family clubs. This is where the club puts on a feed and share some drinks no matter the outcome of the match to help keep rugby’s greatest core value alive: respect.

  • Cronulla Jazz & Blues Festival

    Cronulla RSL is a proud sponsor of the Cronulla Jazz & Blues Festival 2025. In addition, an official venue, with acts from 30 May to 1st June.

  • HARS Aviation Meuseum

    Cronulla RSL made a donation to Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS), to ensure Cronulla was treated to a truly special moment on ANZAC Day. The skies above came alive with a breathtaking flypast. These weren’t just aircraft – they were living, flying symbols of Australia’s rich military aviation history.

  • Cronulla Surf Festival & Worlds Biggest Paddle Out

    The Cronulla Surf Festival, spearheaded by Blakey Johnston, was a community event that celebrated beach culture and supported mental health charities. The festival’s mission was to bring the community together and ensure everyone felt awesome, with a particular emphasis on mental health awareness for youth. The event included a world record breaking paddle-out, raising funds for Find Ya Feet.

  • Pro Velo Super League

    Cronulla RSL was especially proud to sponsor the Women’s Stage of the SBS Sports Women’s League and to provide prizes for the riders in the Cronulla Crits. The level of competition was outstanding, and it was inspiring to see so many people lining the course, cheering them on.

  • ANZAC Care Packages

    Cronulla RSL & Cronulla RSL Sub-Branch proudly supported Engadine Sub-Branch’s Care Packages Program, providing deployed soldiers with Aussie treats and heartfelt messages from local students.

Category 1 - Club Grants

  • Cronulla RSL Supports Skillz4Me

    Skillz4me - Ocean Warriors Event

    Through Category 1 ClubGRANTS, Cronulla RSL were able to support Skillz4me, Ocean Warriors Event in November 2024.

    The event allowed local families who have a child with a disability, the opportunity to go to the beach in a fun and supportive environment. The children were able to access the water or ride on a surfboard, for some it was their first time. Read more.

Category 2 - ClubGRANTS

  • Cronulla RSL Table Tennis Club

    Funding was used to purchase a new table tennis table and a ball-dispensing robot, providing club members with more opportunities to play and stay active.

    Additionally, the grant helped cover costs associated with venue hire, ensuring continued access to facilities for training and competition.

  • Cronulla RSL Softball Club

    This grant enabled the club to purchase equipment for its new D-grade team, providing opportunities for new players across the Sutherland Shire to participate in the sport and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.

    The funding will support skill development and strengthen team cohesion.

  • Lilli Pilli Sea Scouts

    This grant funds new camping equipment, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for kids as they volunteer their time for regular excursions and camp events. This support enables the Sea Scouts to actively participate in charity events for local organisations.

  • Cronulla Water Polo Club

    "This grant supports the purchase of new uniforms, equipment, and other expenses associated with hosting a gala weekend. It will help bring kids from Country NSW to the beautiful Gunnamatta Bay for a weekend of water polo.

  • Cronulla Sutherland Boccia Club

    Funding supported a 'Come Try' day, providing local Sutherland Shire families with disabilities the opportunity to experience and learn about the Paralympic sport.

  • Australian War Widows NSW

    This funding will support a monthly well-being event for the Cronulla War Widows Guild.

  • Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club

    This grant will provide Learn-to-swim classes for members in the Under 6 and Under 7 age groups. This program is delivered in partnership with the Cronulla Crays Junior Activity Group (Nippers) and Cronulla Beach Swim School, located in the sports complex on the Esplanade at Cronulla beach below the Cronulla RSL. The project aims to provide life-long skills in water safety through swimming competency. In addition, the funds will provide sun protective clothing for age managers.

  • Cronulla Triathlon Club

    This funding support will help strengthen the CTC Junior Program for athletes aged 8 to 20, helping to reduce barriers to entry and support the development of young talent. The funding enabled the club to expand its bike loan program, provide essential gear like wetsuits and cycling shoes, and invest in accredited coaching within the Sutherland Shire. As a result, more juniors will have access to quality training and opportunities to progress to state and development teams.

  • Wanda Surf Life Saving Club

    This funding will assist Wanda Surf Life Saving Club in upgrading their Patrol Sheds with motorised doors. This important upgrade enhances operational efficiency, improves safety and accessibility for volunteers, and helps protect vital lifesaving equipment from damage or theft.

  • Cronulla RSL Football Club

    This funding will allow CRSLFC to deliver a Football Skills Academy, a free 10-week skills training program for members aged 6 to 9, providing 1:1 coaching from certified SSFA coaches. Running alongside the 2024 football season, the program helps young players develop their skills and apply them in weekly games. The grant also supports upgrades to the club’s equipment, specifically the purchase new goal posts.

  • Cronulla Caringbah Sharks Junior Rugby League

    This funding will assist ti upgrade essential training equipment, including tackle mats, tackling bags, hit pads, rugby league balls, field markers, agility posts, and kicking tees. These upgrades directly benefit players aged 2 to 18, from the Tiny Fins program through to the junior teams, by enhancing safety, skill development, and the overall training environment.

11 local not-for-profit organisations (below) were invited to decorate a Christmas Tree, which was displayed in the club foyer. Members, guests, staff & board voted for their favourite tree. In total, $8,000 was donated to their wonderful causes.

Schools Program

Cronulla RSL has numerous avenues through which we can support local schools, in addition to monetary donations. By engaging actively with the educational community, offering mentorship, sharing resources, and fostering a culture of learning and development, we feel Cronulla RSL can play a pivotal role in enhancing the educational experience of students in the area.

Supporting animals impacted by war

$38,000 raised so far

Over the past few years, Cronulla RSL has been dedicated to recognising and supporting animals impacted by war. Since 2022, we’ve proudly raised awareness and funds for several important causes, including the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation (AWAMO), which honours animals that have served alongside our troops; local retired Military Working Dogs, Manic and Aslan, to support their ongoing care; and most recently, Working Paws Australia, which provides care and rehoming services for working and retired service dogs.
