Cronulla RSL Proud to Continue Supporting Southside Malibu

Cronulla RSL is proud to once again support Southside Malibu, a long-standing local surf club that has been bringing together longboard enthusiasts for more than four decades.

In 2024, Southside Malibu celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking an incredible milestone and cementing its place as the second oldest continuing Malibu club in Australia. For 40+ years, the club has fostered a welcoming and inclusive surfing community, united by a shared passion for longboarding and the unique culture that surrounds it.

Monthly club meets provide members with the opportunity to connect, compete, and enjoy the ocean together. Whether surfers are chasing competitive success or simply enjoying recreational surfing, Southside Malibu welcomes people of all ages and abilities, creating a supportive environment where everyone can participate and develop their skills.

Over the years, Cronulla RSL has been proud to support Southside Malibu throught sponsorship & ClubGRANTS and the important role it plays within the local community. Assisting with projects such as the upgrade and replacement of essential equipment, including a event tent, repairs to its club trailer, and competition shirts. These resources have helped Southside Malibu to host club events and provide a positive experience for members and visitors alike.

Beyond its commitment to surfing, Southside Malibu has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to giving back to the community. The club has supported the Surfrider Foundation and, for the past two years, has partnered with Skillz4Me through the Wave Warriors event, helping create opportunities for people with disability to experience the joy and benefits of surfing.

Cronulla RSL is pleased to support organisations such as Southside Malibu that not only preserve the rich surfing heritage of the Sutherland Shire but also make a meaningful contribution to the wider community through inclusion, participation, and connection.
