Supporting Junior Players with Safer, Stronger Training Equipment
Cronulla RSL is proud to support local junior sport through the ClubGRANTS program, helping to create safer and more inclusive opportunities for young players in our community.
Through this support, a local junior football club has been able to significantly upgrade its training equipment, replacing outdated and water-damaged tackling bags and pads with new, high-quality gear. Importantly, the introduction of crash mats, which the club had not previously had access to, is enabling coaches to teach safe tackling techniques to younger players in a controlled and supportive environment.
The funding has also ensured players have access to essential equipment including new footballs and field cones, helping to lift the overall standard of training and participation across all age groups.
Beyond the immediate benefits, this investment is creating long-term impact. With durable equipment now in place, the club has been able to reduce costs for the current season, easing financial pressure on a not-for-profit organisation and allowing greater focus on player development and community participation.
Cronulla RSL remains committed to supporting grassroots sport and ensuring young people in the Sutherland Shire have access to safe, high-quality environments where they can learn, grow and stay active
ClubGRANTS scheme is a shared State Government-Club Industry program, funded by a 2.25% gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum. https://www.clubgrants.com.au/
