Vietnam Veterans’ Day Commemorative Service

Cronulla RSL Sub Branch members and representatives of Cronulla RSL came together on 18 August for Vietnam Veterans’ Day, attending a moving commemorative service hosted by the Engadine RSL Sub Branch.

The service provided an opportunity to honour all those who served in Vietnam, remembering those who fought, those who made sacrifices during their service and those who never returned home. Following the service, members and guests gathered at Club Engadine for refreshments and a private function.

A particularly meaningful moment came when Cronulla RSL Sub Branch President Cory Rinaldi and Engadine RSL Sub Branch President Brad Copelin were each presented with a Quilt of Valour by Steven Cosgrove. The presentation recognised not only their individual service and commitment, but also the strong relationship that has developed between the two Sub Branches.

Over recent years, Cory and Brad have worked closely to bring the Cronulla and Engadine Sub Branches together, strengthening connections and creating a broader network of support for members and the wider community. It was especially fitting that their Quilts of Valour were presented on Vietnam Veterans’ Day, given the significance of the relationship between the two Sub Branches.

The 2025 Vietnam Veterans’ Day commemorations held in Cronulla marked the first time the Cronulla and Engadine Sub Branches came together to commemorate the day side by side, making this year’s gathering another important milestone in that continuing relationship.

Cronulla RSL sincerely thanks the Engadine RSL Sub Branch and Club Engadine for their warm hospitality and for providing the opportunity for our members and guests to come together to commemorate, remember and honour our Vietnam veterans.
