Cronulla RSL ANZAC Day Two Up Fundraising Surpasses $46,000 for Military Animal Causes

Each year on ANZAC Day, the Cronulla RSL community comes together not only to remember and honour those who have served, but also to support causes that continue the spirit of service and sacrifice beyond the battlefield.

Thanks to the incredible generosity shown through this year’s ANZAC Day fundraising activities, a total of $7,973 has been raised to support organisations dedicated to the welfare and recognition of military and service animals. Funds were raised through both the Club’s popular Two Up activities and BBQ sales throughout the afternoon, with Cronulla RSL’s Board Directors dedicating their ANZAC Day to cooking sausages and keeping hungry Two Up crowds fed across the day.

Funds raised have been distributed across three important causes, including $1,500 to the Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation (AWAMO), $1,500 to Working Paws Australia, and $4,973 to support local retired Military Working Dogs.

This latest result now takes Cronulla RSL’s total fundraising contribution for military and service animal causes to more than $46,000 since 2022. Over the past several years, the Club and community have proudly supported these initiatives.

The continued support shown by members, guests, volunteers and the wider community reflects the deep connection many Australians feel toward the animals that have served alongside our defence personnel. Whether through companionship, protection, detection or frontline support, these animals have played a vital role in military history and continue to deserve recognition and care.

Cronulla RSL would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in Two Up, donated, volunteered or contributed to this year’s fundraising efforts. Community support continues to make a meaningful difference and ensures these important organisations and retired service animals receive the assistance they deserve.
