Remembrance Day Commemorative Rugby Gala Day

Remembrance Day 2025 brought the rugby community together in a powerful display of respect and camaraderie, honouring those who have served and sacrificed. On an exceptionally hot day, players pushed through the 34-degree heat, with grade teams giving their all in a hard-fought and good-spirited match against the Combined Forces rugby team.

It was equally uplifting to see such strong support from our junior clubs, players, and families who made their way to Fortress Forshaw. Among the many teams who took the field, the Burraneer Rugby Club and the Sylvania Bulldogs Junior Rugby Club U16s showed tremendous grit as they battled it out under the tough conditions.

On 8 November, Southern Districts will once again host Remembrance Day Rugby, inviting veterans, families, and the wider community to unite in commemoration and pay tribute to all who have fought for our country.
