Veterans and Families Invited to Try Lawn Bowls at South Cronulla

Cronulla RSL is pleased to share an opportunity for veterans and their families to get active, connect with others and enjoy a relaxed afternoon on the green through an upcoming Come and Try Bowls session at South Cronulla.

Delivered through a partnership between Invictus Australia and Bowls Australia, the free event will take place on Saturday 12 July from 2pm to 4pm and is open to veterans and their family members of all ages and abilities.

Whether participants are picking up a bowl for the first time or have played before, the session provides a welcoming environment to enjoy the physical and social benefits of the sport. Lawn bowls continues to be recognised as an inclusive activity that encourages connection, wellbeing and community participation.

No experience is required, just a willingness to have a go and meet new people. The event aims to introduce veterans and their families to a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, while fostering friendships and strengthening community connections.

Street parking is available, with public transport access via the 971 bus from Cronulla Station, alighting at Chelmsford Avenue.

Veterans or family members requiring wheelchair access are encouraged to contact Amanda Curby at Invictus Australia prior to the event.
