New Podcast: Daniel Michel
Born and raised in Cronulla, Dan Michel was a sports-mad kid with big dreams—but living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 meant those dreams seemed out of reach. That all changed when he discovered Boccia at 15, a precision ball sport that opened the door to international competition, personal purpose, and Paralympic glory. In this powerful episode, Dan shares how finding his sport changed the course of his life, the challenges he’s overcome, and how he went on to win bronze and silver medals for Australia at the 2020 and 2024 Paralympic Games.
We’re also joined briefly by Adam Palmer, President of the Cronulla–Sutherland Boccia Club, who fundraised support Dan’s journey and sheds light on the growing role of parasport in building inclusive community spaces.
