Cronulla RSL Stands Together on Purple Friday
Cronulla RSL stand alongside clubs across New South Wales in recognising Purple Friday – Clubs Say No to Domestic Violence.
This important initiative, led by ClubsNSW, highlights the role clubs play in creating safer communities and supporting those affected by domestic, family and sexual violence.
At Cronulla RSL, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported. We proudly support initiatives that raise awareness of domestic, family and sexual violence, promote respectful relationships, and help connect people to appropriate support services. Our priority is to ensure that anyone who feels unsafe or needs support knows they are not alone, and knows where to turn for help.
How we support our community
Our staff are trained to recognise signs that someone may need support, including distress, withdrawal, or requests for help made in subtle or coded ways. In situations where immediate danger is identified, our team will act quickly and contact emergency services.
We actively support the Ask for Angela initiative, a discreet way for patrons to signal they need assistance. If someone asks for “Angela”, our team will calmly guide them to a safe space and offer help without judgement.
Ask for Angela
We also provide access to Escabags, emergency resource kits for individuals needing to leave unsafe situations. These are provided privately, without requiring explanation. https://www.escabags.org/
