Annual Swim Meet Brings Community Together

A fantastic day of swimming and connection in December, as Cronulla RSL Swimming Club hosted Woolooware High School for their annual swim meet at Gunnamatta Bay! Congratulations to the Woolooware team on winning the Gary Schmalfeldt Memorial Trophy in a close contest.

The Gary Schmalfeldt Memorial Trophy is awarded to the winner of the 10 a side relay between the Swimming Club and the High School, with teams aiming to finish closest to their nominated time at Gunnamatta Bay. Started by Gary Schmalfeldt and Don Saunders, the event remains one of the club’s most popular and well supported traditions. We’re so proud to see this incredible tradition continue, bringing young and young at heart together and keeping community spirit alive.
