Cronulla RSL Staff Volunteer With Escabags
The team at Cronulla RSL recently dedicated a day to volunteering with Escabags, a charity that provides free “Escape Bags” filled with essentials for individuals and families fleeing domestic or family abuse.
Staff rolled up their sleeves to help pack, sort and prepare Escape Bags, which include practical items such as toiletries, clothing, and other necessities that can make an immediate difference to someone leaving a dangerous situation.
The atmosphere on the day was one of teamwork, compassion and a shared determination to give back. Each bag packed by Cronulla RSL staff will soon be in the hands of someone who needs it most — offering not just supplies, but a tangible message of care and support.
For survivors escaping abuse, the decision to leave is often urgent and overwhelming. Having access to an Escape Bag can provide a small but vital sense of stability at a critical moment. These bags come in two types:
Parent and Child Bags, designed for caregivers and their children.
Single Adult Bags, created for individuals in need.
Every bag represents safety, dignity and the reassurance that the community stands behind survivors.
As part of its ongoing support, Cronulla RSL is proud to serve as a stockist of Escabags. This means that anyone in crisis can discreetly come to the club and request an Escape Bag, which staff will provide with sensitivity and confidentiality.
