Cronulla RSL helps 2SSR strengthen Community Broadcasting

Sutherland Shire’s own community broadcaster, 2SSR 99.7FM, is taking an important step to future-proof its operations with the Digital Storage Upgrade Project, supported through a ClubGRANT from Cronulla RSL.

The funding will enable 2SSR to purchase and install a Network Attached Storage (NAS) system, a vital part of its broader ICT upgrade. For a volunteer-run station that relies on digital audio, program archives, and locally produced content, this upgrade will deliver secure, centralised storage and allow volunteer presenters to access files both onsite and remotely. The project represents not just an upgrade in technology, but a commitment to strengthening 2SSR’s role as a trusted and inclusive voice across the Sutherland Shire.

The ClubGRANTS scheme is a shared State Government-Club Industry program, funded by a 2.25% gaming machine tax rebate provided by the State Government to those registered clubs with gaming machine profits in excess of $1 million per annum.
